Professor Liyan Yang is currently Professor of Finance at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, and the Peter L. Mitchelson/SIT Investment Chair Professor.
Professor Yang’s research interests include financial markets, asset pricing, and behavioral finance. He serves as an Associate Editor for journals in economic theory, financial markets, and management science. He is currently an Associate Editor of the Journal of Finance, Journal of Economic Theory, Management Science, Journal of Financial Markets, and Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control. His scholarly work has been published in leading international academic journals, including Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Finance, and Review of Financial Studies, among others.
Professor Yang has received numerous awards in recognition of his outstanding research, including the 2016 JFQA William F. Sharpe Award, the 2016 Bank of Canada Governor’s Award, and the 2015 Roger Martin Award.
Professor Yang received his PhD in Economics from Cornell University in 2010.
