Huang Shiyang is a Professor of Finance at the University of Hong Kong and Deputy Head of the Department of Finance at HKU Business School. He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (Category A) (formerly the National Outstanding Young Scholars Program) and the University of Hong Kong Outstanding Young Scholar Award. He also serves as an Associate Editor of the internationally renowned journals Journal of Financial Markets and Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control. 

Professor Huang has published or has forthcoming a total of 19 papers in leading international journals in finance, economics, and management, including Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, Journal of Economic Theory, and Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. His work has received multiple Best Paper Awards at top international academic conferences, and his research has been supported by five General Research Fund (GRF) grants from the Hong Kong Research Grants Council. His research has also been widely covered by major international financial media, including Bloomberg and the Financial Times.
